Norwegian in New York

Strindberg left Oslo and was met at the New York pier by his happy relatives.

"Welcome to America!" they all shouted.

After thanking them profusely for their kindness, Strindberg raised his hand to ask for silence.

He then proudly started to show off his knowledge of English by rattling off the months of the year:

"Yoon, You-lie, All-guts, Split timer, Ox timber, no vonder, all vinter!"
